Nottingham Vision is a photo library and archive depicting the City of Nottingham and County of Nottinghamshire with images by Martine Hamilton Knight taken over the last two decades. The collection features a wide range of award winning contemporary architecture, historic buildings, tourist attractions and commercial developments all produced with high quality camera equipment.

Martine is a long established, award winning independent architectural photographer based in the city of Nottingham. Her images have been published internationally and are regularly featured in architectural books and journals. Typical clients of the library include inward investment bodies, local government agencies, designers, tourism managers and project development groups. Images are supplied either on Cd-ROM or by FTP upload, and are in the form of either high resolution TIFF files, or jpegs optimized for the web. Photographs are supplied with a licence for either single or multiple uses for a defined period. Nottingham Vision is a subsidiary of BUILTVISION, and a member of BAPLA (British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies) and trades by its guidelines.

This website gives an indication of the type of image held in specific subject areas, although we have hundreds of alternative shots on file. If you do not see exactly the picture you're looking for, please submit a search request via our 'contact' page and we'll send you further examples by return. The archive is constantly updated, and Martine is available to undertake specific photographic commissions. In 2007 the BBC came to film Martine in Nottingham for their series' A Digital Picture of Britain. She took the crew to three of her favourite buildings - Boots' D10, the 1930's modernist masterpiece in Beeston, to Cecil Howitt's classical Council House in the Market Square and a collection of extraordinary caves underneath a private house in the centre of the city. Even with the tiny camera she was given for the show, she was able to produce evocative and beautiful images which were discussed at length on web chat forums after the series was broadcast!

More recently, Martine has been a national judge for the 2009 RIBA Awards, and locally was a judge for the Creative Business Awards in Nottingham for 2009/10. She travelled to China in November 2009 for the opening of her exhibition in Nottingham's twin city- Ningbo. Ninety six of her images were displayed over two large galleries, and the show ran until January 2010.
